Dinosaur Day

Have you ever felt like there is a Dinosaur in your Tummy. Well Room 15 have! It feels a bit like you might be sick or like something is not right. Our movie is based on the amazing picture book There’s a T-Rex In My Tummy by Kellie Dawson who lives right here in Auckland. This story helped us to understand the feeling of Anxiety and find some strategies to manage it. We hope you enjoy our take on this book and we encourage you to get a copy to read.

Presenters Script:

Whats that?

This? (holds dinosaur), it’s the T-Rex that keeps stomping around my Tummy.

Why is it doing that?

Well because I feel Anxious about presenting to all these people.

Enjoy Room 15s Movie Dinosaur Day based on the book There’s a T-Rex in my Tummy.

Dog Day

This year has been full of laughs and fun. With our Teacher Mrs Carruthers leaving at the end of term 3 we wanted to make a movie that summed up our joy and showed you how funny we are. This movie feature Barty Mrs Carruthers’ Mini Poodle. We hope you enjoy.

Samson: Come on Doodle Dog. Let’s go to school.

Jilliane: Dogs are not allowed at Pt England School.

Samson:Why not? I want to bring him.

Jilliane:I don’t think it’s a good Idea.

Samson: But please..

Jilliane: Okay I guess, Room 15 presents Dog Day.

Thank You and Good Bye

It is hard to believe that this is the end if my time here at Pt England School. Today marks my last day teaching here after almost 8 years. I feel so blessed to have been part of this amazing theme of people and to have had the chance to meet some incredible children. What an adventure!

I am so lucky to have had many amazing classes. I huge thank you to Room 15 and 16 you are amazing.

Farewell, Goodbye and Thank you for all you have done!

Immersion Day

In the second week of term 2 we had a wonderful immersion day. The children in Room 15 moved around the different classroom learning about the changing states of Matter.

In Room 13 they made elephant toothpaste and saw the awesome chemical reaction.

In Room 14 they made yummy Jelly looking at the change from a solid to a liquid and back to a solid.

In Room 15 they learned about density and the difference between oil and water making Lava Lamps.

Anzac Biscuits

In the first week of term we learned all about Anzac Day. We explore many different story books and discuss the impact war can have on people and places.

To connect our Anzac learning to our inquiry we made Anzac biscuits and shared what we did on our blogs.

Here is Isla-May’s Blog post Check it out.

Task description: We have been learning all about ANZAC DAY and measurements. The people who got most of there work finished got to go to the whare ako. We got to make Anzac biscuits, Mrs Carruthers gave us a recipe and told us to get into 2 groups of 6. We had to get flour, oats, butter, coconut and other things it got a bit messy on the table. After we were done putting the ingredients we let it bake for half and hour or an hour. It was really fun because after morning tea we got to eat it.

A Wonderful Gift

We are so lucky at Pt England School. We have such great support from the community and business who want the best for our kids. Recently Air New Zealand gave us the wonderful gift of new headphones for all our children.

The children were lucky enough to get two pairs one for school and one for home. Enjoy our video about our new Air New Zealand headphones.

A Journey in Sound: Manaiakalani Film Festival

Last Term Room 23 learned lots about Music and we listened to a new song every day. We learned that songs can reflect our emotions and that sometimes music can help us to feel better when we are sad.

We hope you enjoy our Film festival movie.
